Flash is the excess rubber material left on a rubber part or component after molding. Flash is the result of the rubber material or compound migrating through the mold surface finish and mating surfaces. It can be removed by tear trimming, cryogenic deflashing, tumbling, and other post molding operations. It is a common feature that every metal to rubber component has flash after molding.
