An elevator or lift is a type of vertical transportation that moves people or goods between floors (levels, decks) of a building, vessel, or other structure. Elevator are generally powered by electric motors that either drive traction cables or counterweight systems like a hoist, or pump hydraulic fluid to raise a cylindrical piston like a jack.

In agriculture and manufacturing, an elevator is any type of conveyor device used to lift materials in a continuous stream into bins or silos. Several types exist, such as the chain and bucket elevator, grain auger screw conveyor using the principle of Archimedes’ screw, or the chain and paddles or forks of hay elevators.Languages other than English may have loanwords based on either elevator or lift.

Storing The Dust
After the material has been removed and transported from the dust collector, a storage facility must be used to permit disposal in efficient quantities. Elevated storage tanks or silos are normally used to permit loading of dry dust into enclosed trucks underneath.
For wet dust collectors, the accumulation area is a settling pond. A settling pond may require considerable space. Since the storage area can only be decanted and dried out during the dry season, two settling ponds are usually needed. Also, most collected materials have very fine components that may seal the pond and prevent percolation.
Removing Dust from Hopper
Collected dust must be removed continuously (while the dust collector is operating), Rotary air locks or Double dump valves should be used to maintain a positive air seal. If the material in the hopper has a bridging tendency, equipment such as bin vibrators, rappers, or air jets should be used.Conveying The Dust

After the dust has been removed from the collector, it must be transported to a central point for accumulation and ultimate disposal. Conveying of dust can be accomplished by the following methods:

• Use of screw conveyors
• Use of pneumatic conveying
• Use of air slides
• Use of Ash Conditioner/Pug mill to convey slurry

Cast Basalt is a mineral of exceptionally high abrasion resistance, unlimited resistance to moisture, high compressive strength and resistance to virtually all acids and alkalis and is completely corrosion free. Cast basalt is produced by melting selected natural-broken into sizes of 20-50 mm in shaft furnaces at temperatures around 1300º C followed by casting at which the melted basalt forms uniform, pherolithic crystals, hence producing its typical physical properties in particular its exceptional hardness and wear-resistance. Cast basalt reaches a value of hardness of 8 (min) on the Moh’s hardness scale.

Areas of Application : Cast Basalt is the wear-protective material most frequently used, Offering an outstanding price/efficiency ratio and allowing a very economical preventive wear protection. Due to its extreme hardness. Cast  basalt is used for components subject to high abrasion or scuffing.However, it is marked by a certain sensitivity to impacts. Under normal service conditions, cast basalt withstand temperatures up to approx. +350º C or – 40º C.

Sizes : Cast basalt products are manufacturedas tiles, formpieces, pipes and segments. Straight pipes are spun-cast available for nominal bores of 32 to 600mm with the wall thickness ranging from 20 to 30m and a standard length of 500 mm. Smaller nominal bores of straight pipes, pipe segments for radii of 400 to 3000 mm of various angles as well as special formpiece linings are predominantly sand-cast.

Cast Basalt Lined piping : Cast basalt lined piping is exceptionally wear-resistant and is applied whenever highly abrasive materials are to be conveyed pneumatically or hydraulically through pipelines, such as compound material, coal, coal dust, coke, fly-ash, furnace dust, cement, lime, fine ores, slag, sand and other coarse or fine-granulated abrasive material.

Advantages :

• The hardness in case of Cast Basalts is very high as compared to mild steel.
• The resistance to flow in case of Cast Basalt is negligible; as cast basalt has got a work hardening property i.e.; the surface achieves a glassy finish as the material flows over it.
• The resistance to wear in case of cast basalt can be understood by the fact that the life in case of cast basalt is 4-5 times higher than that of mild steel. The average life in case of ash slurry lines lined with cast basalt is 18-20 years (with Imported Basalt)
• Cast basalt is nearly free from corrosion.
• Cast basalt is resistant to nearly all acids and alkalis except HF acid.
• The compressive strength in case of cast basalt is very high as compared to mild steel.
• The bulk density in case of cast basalt is very low as compared to mild steel hence it is very light in weight.

Rotary Air valves, are commonly used in industrial and agricultural applications as a component in a bulk or specialty material handling system. Rotary feeders are primarily used for discharge of bulk solid material from hoppers/bins, receivers, and cyclones into a pressure or vacuum-driven pneumatic conveying system. Rotary Air Valves also known as Rotary feeder or Rotary airlocks.
