This has an asymmetrical change in the cross section which causes the ring to twist slightly inwards when installed and brings the bottom edge into contact with the cylinder wall, producing better sealing effects.This is a compression ring with a rectangular cross section and its geometrically simple form provides an adequate seal under normal operating conditions.
