Techno Chemicals Industries Ltd., Calicut, was incorporated in the year 1930 by the late Sri P.B. Kurup.While the Department of Biotechnology (DBT) was set up in India under the Ministry of Science and Technology only in the year 1986,as founder Chairman of Techno, P.B.Kurup was a pioneer in the field of biotechnology during the 1930s to 1980s, in a period when biotechnology was practically unheard of in India. A man whose motto was “Simple living and high thinking”,his enthusiasm for the consistent research and development carried out by the company was matched by his generosity in providing invaluable advice and providing quality materials to aid other researchers in their work, believing that there was more than enough for all. Though the company’s humble beginnings was with producing distilled water, we soon grew into a multi product manufacturing organisation with sales inside India and exports to all over the world.
