Fully Thread Studs have a shank equivalent to the real width of the string. Half thread studs have a shank equal to the pitch breadth of the screw thread. Fully threaded studs are quite weaker because the metal is removed to create the thread disconcerting the grain of the steel. Whereas the half threaded stud are stronger because metal is rolled up to the major breadth and not removed. It conserves the grain of the steel and in some cases even enhances it.
