Van Gogh Sunflower Bangle

SUNFLOWERS 1888 inspired by Van Goghs painting Sunflowers Van Gogh Museum, Amsterdam Vincent van Gogh (1853-1890), famous for his bold colors, thick brush strokes and passionate honesty, began painting seriously in his late 20s. Many of his best known works were completed in his last two years of life. His Sunflowers (Tournesols) painted in 1888 is part of a set of bouquets in vases. These were so liked by his friend Paul Gauguin that he acquired two of the Paris versions. Van Gogh even painted sunflowers in his guest room in Arles where Gaugain was to stay.
