Groundnut

Peanuts, or Groundnuts as they are known in some parts of the world, are the edible seeds of a legume, Arachis Hypogaea, and they are high in protein, oil and fiber.India is the second largest producer of Groundnut Kernels/Peanuts in the world, after China, followed by other countries such as United States, Nigeria, Senegal Argentina and so on.The main Peanuts/Groundnut Kernels cultivating states from India includes Gujarat, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra.

In India, we have two major varieties of Peanuts known as BOLD and JAVA type. The Bold variety peanuts are typically dark red skinned with elongated shape. The Java variety peanuts are pink skinned with round spheroid shape.
