The decanter is a machine where the horizontal conical vessel rotates at very high speed and at the centre of the vessel there is a scroll which also rotates in the same direction at differential speed which allows separation of solid and liquid. The planetary drive used in the decanter machine is a high precision gearbox where all the gears have accuracy of DIN1 6 & are dynamically balanced to withstand high speed of maximum 4000 rpm. Generally input shaft is kept stationary or given speed to achieve variable speed between bowl & scroll.
Depending on the design of the decanter output shaft is designed of hollow female spline construction or extra long male spline construction.

The range of Bevel Planetary Drives comes with spiral bevel gears at input stage. The prime mover arrangement can be offered as solid shaft to mount a pulley or sprocket or coupling, and also for hollow female type where in flange mounted electric or hydraulic motor can be directly installed through a flexible shaft.
Gear box mounting can be offered as foot mounting or flange mounting as per application demands.

Top Gear gearbox has got solid input shaft & female splined shaft at output. The Hoist drum is to the connected to body of the planetary drive & the output splined shaft is held stationary by the male flanged splined spigot & drive through electric brake motor is given at input end.
The robust construction of output splined shaft with the use of high grade alloy steel ensures reliability for application. The drive is mounted inside the drum gives compactness to hoist.
The Gear boxes often called as Conical Mixer & where the vessel is conical shaped & at the periphery one screw along with central gear box arm rotates @ 30 to 45 rpm as well as the arm rotates as per required speed @ 1 rpm.

The constructional feature of this type of gear box is that it has got tapered roller bearings to take care of thrust and radial loads in addition to transmit torque. One end is fixed to the equipment frame and generally sprocket is fitted on the hub which gets connected to the crawler chain.
The transmission construction is single, double or triples stage compact planetary system. The provision for free wheeling by disconnecting the drive pinion is optional. The parking brakes supplied are multi disc spring loaded and hydraulically released.

The construction of the Belt drive is very simple where the one end planetary gear box shaft is held stationary with the rigid pedestal. The gear box fitted inside the drum and it rotates completely where as the input shaft is connected to flange type motor, which is fitted at another end of drum.
The TGT Belt Drive has advantage over other the manufacturers such as motor is fitted outside which is easy in maintenance.
The Belt drives are supplied in pre oil filled condition with long life synthetic oil.
The belt drives are widely used in foundries, ore handling plants, coal handling conveyors, baggasse handling conveyors in sugar plants.
