Our Products
A conveyor belt, as we know, is a continuous loop of material that rotates around two or more pulleys. Conveyor belts are used for shifting / transporting material from one end to another. Belts are made from materials like rubber, steel, technical textiles etc.
Back in 1980, Unnati Industries (now known as Urja Products Pvt Ltd) was one of the first companies in India to develop a matrix of two materials PTFE + Fiberglass. PTFE Coated Glass Cloth is an immaculate matrix of the excellent physical and chemical properties of both the constituents. Controlled manufacturing process and rigid inspection procedures give right quality of material that is capable of resolving a wide range of problems. We, at Urja excel in the line of the manufacturing PTFE Coated Fiber Glass Fabrics that are used to make conveyor belts for high temperature applications.
Urja Belting Technologies is a division of Urja Products Pvt. Ltd. Today, we carry 40 years of experience in manufacturing special grades of PTFE Coated Glass Fabrics and a wide variety of intrinsically engineered conveyor belts. Surely there is a belt for your specific and demanding requirement.
PTFE Coated Glass Fabrics used to make Conveyor Belts possess excellent non-stick and high tensile properties. They are non-toxic, non-wettable, and immune to fungus and hence are highly recommended for applications in the food industry. These belts operate in temperatures ranging from -200C to +280C. Unsurpassed dielectric properties, make our belts the only suitable choice for use in Micro-wave ovens.
Sealed or sewn edges safeguards and protects both the edges of the belt during operation preventing the edges of the belt from fraying.
Stitching of filter bag is of prime importance. A strong and appropriate thread will never cause the bag to break or tear during its operation. A broken bag will result in improper filtration and cause an unexpected shut down. A small factor could lead to huge problems for the plant manager. Urja manufactures the correct thread for fiberglass filter bags. Several strands of E-glass yarns are plied and twisted for extra strength and thereafter coated with PTFE under controlled conditions. The coating of PTFE will protect the thread from chemical damages when the bag is subjected to flue gases and also facilitate sewing operations. Urjas product code PTZ 7513 has been performing and exceeding expectations in the Indian market since last 30 years.
PTFE (Polytetra-fluoro-ethylene) is a synthetic fluoropolymer accidentally invented by Roy Plunkett that finds numerous applications. It is well known by the DuPont band name Teflon. PTFE is a material of remarkable properties; non-stick, friction-free, self-lubricating, non-wetting, non-flammable, non-brittle, non-toxic, resistant to atmospheric conditions, resistant to fungus growth and resistant to all chemicals (except molten alkali metals and fluorine at elevated temperatures and pressures). Its electrical properties are equally outstanding. All properties are maintained over a wide working temperature range of -200oC to +350oC.
Fiber-Glass too is a material of remarkable properties. Fabrics made from continuous filament yarn exhibit superior properties in terms of high tensile strength, low elongation, high temperature resistance, electric and sound insulation etc.
Requirements to cover Antennas at high altitudes have been successfully matched with PTFE coated fiber glass fabrics used as Radomes. Special grades have been developed which allows micro-waves to pass through. They protect the Antennas from snow, dust, rain, moisture, bird nest etc. Urja has manufactured over 200 radomes with many exceeding diameters of 3 meters.
We offer a wider range of PTFE products than any other manufacturer, including PTFE coated Glass Fabric in sheets, rolls, tapes, discs, laminates, belts and threads.
The entire packaging industry across India is aware and associated with our range of UNITO Tapes which are used for heat sealing applications. PTFE coated Glass Cloth is coated on one side with high temperature resistant pressure sensitive silicone adhesive. To ensure proper bonding between the surface of the fabric and the adhesive, the fabrics is etched with the latest technology. PTFE COATED TAPES stick well to the heating element, allowing the heat to transfer and fuse the plastic without the plastic sticking to the heating element ensuring a permanent seal. Properties of the adhesive make this fabric versatile for most end applications. This fabric withstands temperatures up to 280oC and serves as an excellent anti-stick surface where the requirements are stringent. OSA (One side Adhesive) tapes are available in various sizes.
We are, in a major way, responsible for the safe delivery of your morning milk pouch / satchet.
Our fiberglass tapes with Acrylic and Silicon adhesives are used for electrical insulation. These tapes demonstrate high dielectric strength while retaining their pressure sensitive nature. Essentially used in electric motors, transformers, generators etc

Welding blankets are used to protect human beings, materials and equipments from welding splatters/sparks produced during the process of welding. Blankets are also used to protect surroundings from heat during gas cutting and gas welding.
Welding blankets are made from Glass fabrics, High Silica fabrics and Ceramic fabrics.
Glass fabrics with Vermiculite coating are also available. These blankets can also be provided with loops for hanging or with eyelets.
At many areas in Industry, valves are insulated by using insulating wool and cladding the same with aluminium sheet. During maintenance, this has to be dismantled which is time & material consuming. To avoid this, Urja has introduced Removable and Re-usable Valve Jackets.
Valve Jackets are made by inserting Insulating material (generally wool) between two layers of fabric and stitching the whole unit with high temperature threads. Generally strings are provided for easy fitting and removal. Thickness of insulation will depend on the surface temperature of the valve.
It is always convenient to use re-usable Valve jackets because of following reasons:-They are easy to install; They are easy to re-use & re-fit; refitting saves Cost/TIME & they work in all weather conditions.

As described by Fluid Sealing Association-USA, Non-Metallic/Fabric Expansion Joints are flexible connectors designed to provide stress relief in ducting systems by absorbing movements caused by thermal changes. They also act as vibration isolators, shock absorbers and in some instances to make up for minor misalignment of adjoining ducting or equipment. Fabric Expansion Joints are typically designed for ducts where pressure is know, not more than 3 psi (2000 mm w/c) and temperature up to 1000oC. However, for higher temperatures, duct itself needs to be internally insulated.
A technical joint venture has been signed with Senior Flexonics Pathway-USA, who is globally known in the field of expansion joints. We bring to India their experience of over 50 years in this field. Today, Urja is registered and regularly supplying to prestigious organizations like BHEL, EIL, NTPC, RELIANCE, TATA, L&T, GAIL, IOCL, MRPL, GSFC, IFFCO etc. etc.
Features
Cable Protection Sleeves are used to protect cables and hoses from high heat, molten metal splashes, occasional flames in nearby areas. These sleeves are made from Heat Resisting fabrics.
The sleeves are also made to suit particular size of cable or hose that are already installed at customers site.
The sleeves are generally made from Silicon Rubber Coated Glass Fabrics. For higher temperatures, High Silica Fabrics and Ceramic Fabrics are used.
Cable Protection Sleeves can be supplied with Velcro, Steel Buttons or can be Stitched at site so that they can be fitted on cables which are already connected in the system. Such methods of installation bring extra convenience.
Personal protective clothing like Gloves, Hand Sleeves and Aprons made from Aramid (Kevlar), Fiber glass, Aluminised Fiber glass, Silica and Ceramic fabrics. These products ensure protection from heat, metal splashes, cuts and occasional flames.
