It is provided in case of life threatening illnesses like cancer, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, cardiac heart failure, kidney failure, Alzheimers disease, Parkinsons disease, etc where the patient is suffering from a lot of stress and trauma and hence his quality of life is much deteriorated. Palliative care helps in treating a lot of conditions like pain, loss of appetite, trauma, depression, shortening of breath, fatigue, nausea, constipation, insomnia, etc. It is a treatment which cant be provided by a single professional, hence it includes a group of skilled, qualified and experienced doctors, nurses, physiotherapist, pathologist, language therapist, occupational therapist and some other healthcare professionals who work in harmony with the primary care physicians and specialists.
