Fastener Dimension, INC. is proud to announce that we are now stocking Shur-Lok brand Expandable Diameter Fasteners. These fasteners all all unique to your individual applications. Each fastener is custom-engineered to expand in a hole to prevent fretting (corrosion or wearing away). These unique fasteners can eliminate the the extra expenses and need for close tolerance machining or press fits fasteners. These fasteners are typically used in aircraft engine's and engine mounting, helicopter rotor heads and blade attachment, mounting of anti-friction bearings, or can be put in place to make a tighter joint. What makes all of this work? The real brain of the fastener is the expandable bushing stack of alternating tapered split bushings. When you compress the fastener and force is applied to the ends of the bushing stack, the diameter of the fastener simply increases. When the compression is released and the force is relaxed the bushings return to their original diameter. Once the pressure is released you can easily remove this fastener and reused at a later time. These fasteners have already been designed in a multitude of different types. Fastener Dimension, INC. is proud to announce that we are now stocking Shur-Lok brand Panel Fasteners for Sandwich Structure and honeycomb panels. These types of inserts can me mechanically installed or potted in with epoxy. These fasteners are engineered to fasten all types of honeycomb and sandwich panels structures. Engineered to assemble aircraft interior main structure and secondary structures, such as: floor boards, wall panels, galleys, stow bins, over head compartments, and lavatories. These inserts are available in threaded and non-threaded, through or blind, locking or non locking. All designs and configurations are available. The floating inserts features a unique floating nut self contained in the insert, this special movement allows you to compensate for screw misalignment (easy installation). Spacers are also available and are designed to be installed in structural applications, most typically these spacers are in aircraft floors. Spacers are available in two different systems, either one-piece sleeve or a two piece system of plug and a sleeve.
