Hydrocyclone Liners

Morgan Advanced Materials offer a wide range of hydrocyclone liners manufactured from our Deranox 975 alumina material chosen for its mechanical strength in high wear applications. Hydrocyclones are used in upstream oil production to separate solids from water or liquid hydrocarbon streams. They prevent the build-up of sand in separators and pipelines, which protects sensitive items such as export pumps and heat exchangers. The liquid-solid mixture is forced through an apparatus at the top of the hydrocyclone and the rotational motion causes dense sand particles to separate from the less dense liquid. The solid particles fall down the tube and the liquid is forced up the tube into a separate cavity. The hydrocyclone system is lined with our ceramic components, which need to be robust to withstand severe abrasion caused by the rotational flow of the abrasive sand.

Fused Silica Rollers

Made from a material composition that is 99, 8% SiO2, our Fused Silica rollers are the right choice for use in a variety of furnaces. Featuring very low thermal expansion and excellent thermal shock resistance, our rollers made from this material can be used continuously at temperatures up to 1000 C. Due to their excellent mechanical properties and their special surface quality, our fused silica rollers are mainly used in a variety of annealing kilns and glass tempering furnaces.

MgO Spinel Kiln Furniture

We now provide a wide range of kiln furniture including setting plates, beams, supports etc and crucibles made from our specialist magnesium oxide (MgO) Spinel material. Our MgO Spinel can be used for products up to a temperature range of 1700oC and exhibits superior corrosion resistance particularly against alkalis and earth alkalis. The properties of this material make it particularly good for products used within metal melting (non-iron) and has shown to perform well in the melting of light metals containing aggressive slags.
