Wire and Sinker EDM of Iconel Cargo Latch for the Aerospace Industry When Wire Pro was contracted by a client in the aerospace industry to manufacture 1, 000 Iconel cargo latches, we rose to the challenge. Using a combination of wire and sinker electrical discharge machining (EDM), we manufactured the cargo latches in accordance with a customer-supplied CAD print. Once the primary component had been machined, we applied glass beading to achieve a 32 RMS surface finish. The final cargo latches measured 2.00 inches thick, and we upheld +- .0005 of an inch tolerance throughout manufacturing. When we were certain we had surpassed our client's expectations for quality and precision, we delivered the order.
