Sal Wood has been known as prized wood for furniture making. Its durability and beauty makes it the most demanded timber variety for commercial furniture making. Sal wood is light in color when freshly cut and becomes dark brown with exposure. The Malaysian Sal wood is most fit for timber products. The multifaceted designs of this wood finely merge in with the surrounding architecture & interiors. Sal wood is fairly hard, easily to work on and durable. Because of this, it is mostly used in to produce best quality furniture. The wood is also suitable for making frames for doors and windows.

It has a very good fiber structure and a good oil content in the wood which gives it a pleasant look and no odor. The cut Burma teak log contains moisture of around 45-55% The typical mean circumference of the teak log is between 75 cm 240 cm and diameter of upto 120 cm. The usual length is around 300 cm 900 cm depending on the age and growth rate of the Burma teak timber. Sawing yield is up to 95% whilst milling as around 5% is wastage which can be further used for plain wooden beading The Burma teak timber grows tall and has straight lines with good natural grains.

Very Hard fiber structure with some grains and is of high density. The cut log contains moisture of around 40-50% It has high oil content and moist timber wood. The typical girth is between 500mm to 2000mm and diameter of up to 800mm. The typical length is between 600 3100mm which actually depends on the age and growth rate of the timber. Sawing yield is only approx. 70-75% whilst milling. Generally free from typical defects but can sometime carries visible defects.
