| WELSOFT – PG (Pigment Print Softener) - Product Information PHYSICAL PROPERTIES Composition Functional polysiloxane Appearance Pale yellow colourless translucent viscose liquid Ionic nature Cationic/ Nonionic pH 5.5 6.5 Solubility Miscible in water in all proportions Compatibility With all commonly used processing agents APPLICATION 1) As a softener for fabrics : a) By Pad process : Welsoft-PG : 5 – 10 gpl pH : 5 6 Liquor pick-up : 70 – 80% o.w.f Drying : 110 - 120C Curing : 175 - 180C for 40 secs. b) By Pad process : Welsoft-PG : 0.5 – 2% pH : 5 6 Time : 40 - 40C or R.T. Drying : 15 – 20 mins. . 2) As a softener for pigment print fabrics : ¬ To improved softness & handle of pigment prints, Welsoft-PG is added at a ratio of 5-20 g/kg to the print paste. ¬ Flow properties and stability of the print paste are usually unaffected by addition Welsoft-PG
F Dilution method of Welsoft-PG to Welsoft-PG (20%)- Water (Demineralized) 74.00 Welsoft-PG 26.00 Adjust pH (6.0 with acetic acid) --------- TOTAL 100.00 Procedure · In clean SS vessel take Welsoft-PG and under high speed stirring add water in 15- 20 mins and stir well for 10-15 mins till homogeneous · Adjust the pH of the material to 5.5 –6.5 with acetic acid. ·Filter through cloth and pack.
