wings automobile products, a name synonymous with quality was set up in 1983. The company’s technology driven manufacturing facility situated at faridabad, a premium business and industrial district, on the outskirts of the national capital of india, has a total area of 42,000 sq.ft. The company manufactures high tension ignition coils for two wheelers, three wheelers, auto stacked interlocked laminations, transformers, plastic molded components, noise suppressor caps, stator plates, plastic molded components. The company has developed dual outlet coils for four wheelers, micro-controller based multi curve cdis. studies in depth on pencil ignition coil has also been made.

the company has a manufacturing capacity of 7.5 million ignition coils per annum through functioning in three shifts. This capacity would increase to 10 million through addition of a few winding machines.

types of ignition coils under manufacture : the company is manufacturing sectional wound resin potted ignition coil assemblies. The company also manufactures layer wound potted ignition coils and to a small extent layer wound encapsulated ignition coils. efforts are in progress to manufacture dual outlet coils on plugs and pencil ignition coils for four wheelers.

types of transformers under manufacture : there are a large number by type of transformers under manufacture at wings. these are single phase, two phase and three phase, line frequency, 400hz and high frequency ferrite core, step up, step down, isolation, control transformers, dry type, oil cooled, epoxy casted category of transformers. Line reactors and various type of chokes as per customer requirements can also be made. The transformers manufactured so far range with secondary current of 0.05 amps to 600 amps or in other words 3 va to 203 kva. there is a wide variety of models in these transformers. The models depend upon secondary current rating, split or non-split type, input voltage and output voltage details, number of tappings, output voltage at each tapping, core loss in watts, no load current, hv break-down test details, weight of transformer and transformer efficiency at 50% ~ 100% load on full range. the requirements of a large variety of customers can be met.

wings is certified for iso/ts 16949:2002, iso 9001:2000, iso 14001:2004 and ohsas 18001: 2007.

the company also received unido certification for unido partnership programme for productivity & quality improvement (phase ii) (period : 2003 – 05) on august 18, 2005. further, the company has been certified for dol (direct on line) supplies to hero honda motors ltd (world’s biggest manufacturer of two wheelers 8th consecutive year running) with effect from august 23, 2005.

Further, high quality is guaranteed through testing facilities which comprise digital phosphor oscilloscope, trinocular sterco zoom microscope, electrodynamic vibration shaker system, thermal shock test system, environment test system, magneto test bed rig, variable speed magneto rigs, microsiemen power testing arrangements, high voltage break down testers, continuous spark test rigs, deep freezers, water spray tester, auto compute lcr sortester



etc., allowing endurance and performance monitoring in extreme conditions, thus ensuring high performance products.
