It is virtually a universal sealing material which can be used on pipes of galvanized iron, rubber, copper, plastic brass, aluminium, stainless steel, ceramic, monel, carbon etc. the inherent plasticity of ptfe allows it to extrude into the irregularities of the thread, so filling any voids or passages. It is inert to acids, solvents oil, etc. And will not contaminate the liquid being handled.
