What Is Neem Oil?
Neem oil is a magical stark red, green-brown, yellow-brown, golden-yellow and dark-brown oil extract (depending on the method of extraction), that comes from the fruits of the Neem tree, scientifically called Azadirachta Indica. A God given solution to various ailments (see below) which grows predominantly in the hot and temperate zones of the African Continent.
Its therapeutic and medicinal value is due predominantly to the presence of two major phytochemicals compounds called Azadirachtin and triterpenoid. These compounds gives the neem oil its antiseptic, antifungal, antipyretic and antihistamine properties. In addition to Azadirachtin and triterpenoid, the Neem oil also has sterols (also known as steroid alcohols) like campesterol, beta-sitosterol, and stigmasterol, with fatty acids and alkaloids which are beneficial in healing various ailments and illnesses on the Human body when used. These phytochemicals although not considered as 'essential nutrients', that is adding nutritional value to the body, there is irrefutable proof that the Neem compounds offer many health benefits. Hence we introduce to you the health benefits of the Neem, in particular, the Neem oil.
