A  Control valve  is a  sanitary valve  used to control fluid flow by varying the size of the flow passage as directed by a signal from a controller.  Control valve  enables the direct control of flow rate and the consequential control of process quantities such as pressure, temperature, and liquid level

A  Ball valve  is a form of quarter-turn  valve  which uses a hollow, perforated and pivoting ball to control flow through it.  Ball valves  are durable, performing well after many cycles, and reliable, dosing securely even after long periods of disuse. These qualities make them an excellent choice for shut off and control applications, where they are often preferred to  gate valve  and  globe valves . The  ball valves  are applicable for air. gaseous, and liquid applications requiring bubble-tight service, Low-point drains and high-point vents in liquid, gaseous, and other fluid services, Instrument root  valves , Cooling water and feed water system, Steam service.

Flush bottom valves  provides drainage and dead space free shutoff for reactors, vessels, autoclaves and storage tanks. The dead space free shutoff is accomplished by placing the  valve seat flush with the bottom of the vessel. This eliminates any buildup of product within the vessel nozzle itself.

A  Butterfly valves  is from a family of  valves  called quarter-tum  valves . In operation, the  butterfly valve  is fully open or closed when the disc is rotated a quarter tum. Operation is similar to that of a ball valve , which allows for quick shut off.  Butterfly valves  are generally favored because they cost less than other  valve  design, and are lighter weight so they need less support. In the pharmaceutical, chemical and food industry a  butterfly valve  is used to interrupt product flow (solid, liquid, gas) within the process. The  valves  used in these industries are usually manufactured according cGMP guidelines (current good manufacturing practice).

Diaphragm valves  (or  membrane valves ) consists of a  valve  body with two or more ports, a diaphragm, and a “weir or saddle” or seat upon which the diaphragm closes the  valve . The diaphragm valves  is constructed from either plastic or metal mainly used in the bio-pharmaceutical industry by using compliant materials that can withstand sanitizing and sterilizing methods. Diaphragm valves  can be manual or automated. Their application is generally as shut-off  valves  in process systems with in the industrial, food and beverage, pharmaceutical and biotech industries.
