The basic Purpose of bearing housing is to absorb bearing load and provide dust free environment with lubrication retaining facility and hold bearing stationary outer ring.

The ZKL Bearing housings range has been developed to accommodate all industrial requirements, operating parameters and suit various industrial locations.
To fulfill all industrial conditions , housing are developed in different sizes , shapes and material. According to this , housings are designated for easy customer understanding and selections.
Most of the ZKL Bearing housings are horizontally splited , suitable for bearings having Tapered bore or Cylindrical Bore. These housing are made from high grade cast iron or cast steel.
The cast steel housings are generally selected for heavy loads and / or shock loads applications.
Rotary shaft tip seals are components designed in a ring form , fitted between machine parts in relative rotation, with the function of separating oil or grease from the inside and dirt , dust, water etc. from the outside.
The rotary shaft seals are generally composed of an elastomeric diaphragm , shaped in a lip form and reinforced with a Co-Vulcanized metal insert .The Sealing lip is energized with a Garter Spring.
Seal DesignThe sealing lip design corresponds to the current state of art and is based on many years of experience in a wide range of a application fields.
The sealing edge can either be ready be ready molded or trimmed by mechanical cutting.
The total radial force of the sealing lip is given by elastomer pre-tension together with tensile spring force. The Former depends on the deformation and elasticity of the rubber material, geometry of the sealing lip and interference between shaft and seal.
Using ZKLs Induction Heater , you can install bearings with high precision into shafts without any risk of damage. Heating of the bearing prior to installation to a particular temperature is necessary in order to retain the micro structure essential for getting the maximum efficiency from the bearing, without which bearings are at risk of damage. ZKL ensures that you dont face this problem with the specially designed Induction Heater.
ZHP, ZKL Hydraulic Puller is designed for effortless , efficient and error-free dismounting of bearings , bushings , wheel , gears , pulleys and similar shaft mounted components. The ZHP Range comes in 6, 10, 15, 20, 30 & 50 Tons capacity and are equipped with 3 (three) arms for uniform pulling action.
This tool has been developed for common sizes of bearings with nominal span width varying from 65 to 300mm. Made from graded quality steel , specially hardened , this tool can deplay powerful pulling force during application. Leg opening and closing are easily and quickly adjustable by tightening / loosening the cone . Flat springs provide additional support to legs when holding the bearings.
These ZKL Pullers come in several convenient sizes the smallest consisting of two legs and the heavier models features three legs which help distribute the pulling force equally and ensure accurate centering.

One of such developments has been the use of Oil Injection methods for Mounting and dismounting of bearings, especially large sized ones.
How Oil Injection WorksOil is injected under pressure (by a reciprocating hand pump)between the shaft and the inner ring of a bearing.
The oil exerts pressure and expands the inner ring at the same time forming a lubricating film. This helps bearings, couplings , fans etc , to slide out easily resulting in scratch free dismounting.

Paper mills today are high performers and their equipment, especially bearings need to perform better, longer and more reliably in an environment friendly manner than ever before.
ZKL Greases are specially formulated new generation lubricants that not only reduce friction , wear and tear , but can operate at higher speeds, higher operating temperatures and high load conditions. ZKL Greases are made with special additives such as molybdenum, lithium, calcium and aluminium complexes. ZKL Greases remain mechanically stable and do not harden or thicken quickly , have excellent resistance to water , which helps extend the operating life of both the grease and the bearing.

The ZKL ZMFT 33 is a perfect solution provider . Its the ultimate in easy and dent free mounting of bearings up to 50mm bore on shafts as well as housing , uniformly , without alignment problems. Impact ring face ensures even and simultaneous contact with inner and outer ring of bearings , preventing any mounting force from being transmitted through rolling elements and protecting bearing race ways from any damage.
Extended UsageThe ZKL ZMFT 33 Tool Kit can also be used to mount bushings , seal rings , belt pulleys and sleeves for assembly purposes.
Most machines work in environments where noise levels are high. It is difficult to identify particular sounds / noise elements associated with rotational fluctuations within that ambient sound. If the machine is running with / without adequate lubrication , normal noise is disturbed and the frictional noise can only be distinguished and measured by such sensitive instruments as the ZKL Sound Level Meter which are accurate upto 130dB.

Just as in human beings , temperature is a key indicator of machine health , particularly rotating machinery. It indicates running health , state of lubrication , rotational alignments an a multitude of other factors in a rotating machine , therefore it is critical to keep a check on temperatures. Regular monitoring of temperature determines lubrication timings , help shut down planning. Overhaul scheduling and even bearing replacement requirements.
Lock - nuts are sometimes referred as shaft or withdrawal nuts depending on the use on which they are to be put in. They provide a simple means of axially locating bearings and other machine components on the shafts and also facilitate mounting and dismounting small bearing on withdrawal sleeves. The required bearing internal clearness on tapered sleeves is achieved by carefully tightening of lock nut. For tapered roller bearing, the positive clearance is achieved by full tightening of lock nut and releasing by pitch.
The lock nuts are designated as KM XX and for withdrawal nut it is HM XX
ZKL Lock washers are used to lock the nuts on the shaft , while inner tab is used for locking for the larger size of nuts. Lock- washers are designated as MB XX . Locking washers are made out of deep drawing , cold rolled , annealed steel (CRCA) . After tightening of Lock nut , the lock washer teeth is pressed into one of four grooves of lock nut to make the assembly tightly fitted.
