Assam tea is a robust, malty, full-bodied black tea from India's Assam region, known for its strong flavor, bright amber color, and brisk character, derived from the Camellia sinensis var. assamica plant. It's a staple in breakfast blends like English/Irish Breakfast and is processed via Orthodox (whole leaf) or CTC (crush, tear, curl) methods, the latter making it ideal for tea bags and milk-based drinks.

Flavor Profile: Strong, brisk, malty, and sometimes sweet, especially from the rich, humid climate and fertile soil.
Appearance: Produces a deep, amber-colored liquor.
