Many refrigeration compressors incorporate a suction service valve and a discharge service valve. These are used to allow refrigeration gauges to be attached to the system; and, if needed, they are used to isolate the compressor from the rest of the system.
Working with these valves is not difficult, but there are some finer points to remember.

Asafety valveis a valve which has thefunctionof increasing the safety of a thermal-hydraulics plant. An example of safety valve could be a pressure safety valve (PSV), i.e. a pressure relief valve (PRV) which automatically releases a substance from a condenser, boiler, pressure vessel, or other system, when the pressure or temperature exceeds preset limits.
Safety valves are used to prevent a chilling plant condenserfrom collapsing during operation. The desired safety valve is used as per application and pressure.

GBC ball valves are manually operated shut-off valves suitable for applications where bi-directional flow is a requirement.GBC valves are approved for applications in liquid, suction, and hot gas lines in refrigeration and air conditioning systems.GBC valves offer maximum tightness across the seat and seal, with minimum pressure drop.GBC valves give maximum flow in the fully open position. They are designed for operation within a broad temperature range and are approved for use with any fluorinated refrigerant. Standard GBC valves may be used in applications using high pressure refrigerants, including R410A, and GBC bi-directional ball valves can be delivered with or without external access port. GBC valves are equipped with a one-piece seal cap to prevent tampering. Complies withinternational standards.
