Welcome to Alpha Composites (P) Ltd
FRP (Fiber Reinforced Plastic) or GRP (Glass Reinforced Plastic) or RTR (Reinforced Thermoset Resin) or GFK ( Glasfaserverstärkten Kunststoff) or Fiberglass is a modern composite material of construction which is corrosion-resistant, light weight, extremely strong, and highly durable. The development of FRP composites has been driven by the need to produce materials with improved chemical and mechanical properties over currently available engineering materials. In the chemical, gas and water industry, these sophisticated composite pipes and vessels now equal, and in certain environments, surpass stainless steel and other metallic vessels for the containment of many corrosive liquids. On a macroscopic level, a composite product contains fiber reinforcements embedded in cured thermosetting resin system with certain additives. The mechanical strength of the end product depends upon the amount, type and arrangement of glass fiber reinforcement within the material system. The strength increases proportionally with the amount and type of glass fiber reinforcement. The reinforcement is laid in a particular direction within the matrix so that the resulting material will have different properties in different directions which make them anisotropic unlike metals and other thermoplastics. This characteristic is exploited to optimize the design and provide high mechanical performance where it is need
