They will not readily accept commercial foods so need to be offered live or frozen foods. They should accept blood worms, chopped cockles, chopped mussels and prawns. Origin Africa; Neolamprologus bifasciatus are found in Lake Tanganyika. Sexing There are no visible differences between the sexes. Breeding There are no reports of these breeding in the aquarium but it is believed that in the wild they are cave and shell spawners. Lifespan The expected life span for Neolamprologus bifasciatus is 5-8 years. Short description This fish is a predator by nature and its compressed body shape allows it to enter smaller rock crevices looking for food.
