Description & History: Wintergreen is a small evergreen herb that grows to the height of 15 cm (6 inches) high and has leathery serrated leaves and slender stems. For centuries, extracts from this herbal plant have been widely used in traditional folk remedies. Natives of North American countries use Wintergreen for treating aches and pains. This tradition has led to the discovery of Methyl Salicylate, its main ingredient, as a pain reliever.
