These are Insulating type of sleeves with top end of sleeve blind and having Williams Notch inside the sleeve to aid the riser puncture on the top so that it can feed the casting to its maximum capacity.

Highly insulating sleeves which can be used for steel, ductile and cast iron and copper base alloy castings. Being highly insulating in nature, there is no initial chilling effect on liquid metal. Highly porous structure and low density of sleeve offers high value of M.E.F. This reduces the size of riser required drastically.   • These insulating sleeves are available in various standard sizes.
  • Direct pour sleeves are provided with a seat inside the bottom portion to accommodate a foam filter, these sleeves are placed directly on the body of casting or at the side and metal is directly poured in the sleeve. After filling out the mold and the sleeve, the filter floats out and liquid metal inside the sleeve starts feeding the casting. This can achieve a perfect Directional Solidification in the casting.
  • This eliminates the need for sprue, runner and ingates (conventional gating system), hence improving the yield of castings.
