These machines may resemble home dishwashers or be specialized for the specific needs of cleaning endoscopes or dental hand-pieces and have been validated to meet the special needs of cleaning these instruments. These needs may include specialized racks that allow cleaning of the interior of anesthesia tubing, MIS instruments etc. for example. Higher temperatures speed up cleaning, which is important in a high-volume setting, and also provide disinfection. Automatic Washer Disinfectors are available within effective chamber size of 150 to 350 liters in various configurations and variants.
