Distillation Columns

We manufacture, supply, and export different types of Distillation Columns. Designing of our Distillation Columns is, undertaken by experts, who ensure that these are constructed as per the clients specifications. Our Distillation Columns are, used by various industries, to provide effective distillation of various materials. We use ASME materials that are sourced from reputed manufacturers.

Range :
  • Packed Columns : Here, the liquid in the column travels downwards to the packing surface which is in contact with the gas flowing upwards. Packing is done to increase the vapor-liquid interfacial area contact and also preventing excess drop in pressure. A packing column has the material being fed in batch system i.e. one by one.
  • Sieve Tray Columns : These have metal trays with numerous minute holes in a sieve pattern. These are efficient than other types of columns because they prevent backmixing of material to save time and give accurate distillation. Here, the vapor is passed upwards due to a pressure differential via the liquid present on the plate. The working of a Sieve Tray Column is continuous.
  • Bubble Cap Tray Columns : These have chimneys fitted above each hole and covered with a cap. The cap is separated by a gap to allow the vapors to escape easily. The vapor escapes from the chimney and moves downwards by the assistance of the cap, where it is discharged from the cap slots. After discharge, the vapor gets bubbled through the liquid present on the tray.

Continuous Bleaching Plant

We have Manufactured and Supplied a substantial number of Continuous Bleaching Plants for Domestic and international customers and continue to provide them for various applications. Our precision engineered Continuous Bleaching Plant is manufactured under a controlled production process with testing at every level to ensure its quality. We are well known for providing these Continuous Bleaching Plants within the stipulated timeframe as per the specifications put forth by clients. The bleaching earth is efficiently dosed in the bleacher vessel and a low volume of bleaching earth carried to vacuum system which ensures effective performance in our Continuous Bleaching Plants.

Types of Bleaching :
  • Wet Bleaching

WET BLEACHING :
  • Oil slurry is agitated by dry steam in the bleacher for Wet Bleaching.
  • Oil mixed with required amount of Phosphoric acid is used to precipitate Gums in system after which they are kept for an adequate time in the retention tank.
  • The Slurry mixer receives the oil and mixes it with the bleaching earth to feed it to the Steam bleacher where it is bleached effectively.
  • The gums precipitation efficiency is enhanced due to moisture and due to this the gums and bleach oil are removed efficiently at once.

DRY BLEACHING : Here slurry is not handled rather dry dosing is done with the slurry being in the vacuum. Bleaching is undertaken without any air contact which is beneficial as it prevents oil oxidation to give premium bleached oil.

Feed Specifications before Trans-esterification :If these parameters are not met, then Pretreatment and Esterification have to be done
  • FFA Content : 0.1%
  • Phosphatide Content as phosphorus : 10 ppm
  • Sulphur Content : 5 ppm
  • Water Content : 0.10%
  • Impurities : 0.10%
  • Temperature : 122oF (50oC)

The Process :Trans-esterification of oil takes place when triglycerides react with methanol in the presence of an alkaline catalyst, resulting in the formation of methyl ester and glycerin. After this reaction occurs in the mixing section, the methyl esters are separated (as light phase) from glycerin water (as heavy phase) in the settling section. In the next step counter current washing of methylester removes it as a by-product to give bio-diesel. Rectification column removes excess methanol in the glycerin. Further purification takes place to convert industrial grade glycerin to pharma grade glycerin by distillation.
