The selection and engagement of gears in an Automatic Transmission (AT) is hydraulically controlled depending on vehicle speed and depression of the Accelerator Pedal. The AT Control Valve is an AT component with a maze of passages through which the Automatic Transmission oil flows and is equipped with Solenoids to change the flow of oil in the passages.
