How it works

Dynavac® downdraft tables are an all in one combined workbench where source capture and collection of dust is done. The downdraft table draws contaminants away from the worker’s breathing zone without limiting his productivity. The tabletop is slotted to allow dust filled air into the filtration chamber where the dust is captured using cartridge filters. Fine dust and particulate is drawn down through suction provided by a centrifugal blower fan. If online cleaning is required, downdraft tables can be fitted with compressed air pulse jet cleaning. If not, the cartridge filters will need to be cleaned offline on a periodic basis between shifts or as required. Cartridge life is usually shorter when cleaning is not done in a routine manner and may need to be replaced.

Whether you need to capture smoke, dust or fumes, a down draft table will filter the air in order to eliminate the pollutants. How It Works

  • With the aid of a self-supporting capture arm, airborne particulates are removed from the worker’s breathing zone. The dust filled air enters through the intake of the portable dust collector system.The air with dust is then filtered through the cartridges, and exits as clean air, which can be recirculated into the factory.
  • Pulse jet cleaning systems are available as an option for portable dust collectors and extraction systems. This is essentially an automatic cleaning system, using compressed air that is blown through the filter in the reverse direction and dislodges caked dust from the filter. This self-cleaning system maintains the unit’s performance without excessive human intervention.

Portable dust collection systems are suitable for most types of dust and air contaminants ranging from large amounts of coarse dust and chips to medium amounts of mixed dust with large shavings or even lighter amounts of fine dust.

How it works

  • In a Bag house type filter dust collector system with automatic cleaning, individual filter bags are overlaid on a metal cage. The dirty air enters the Bag house and is forced through the filter bags after which the clean air exits.
  • A timer signals a solenoid valve to start the cleaning when it detects a drop in performance due to build up on the filter or the cleaning cycle is run on a regular periodic basis. Cleaning the filter is done by short bursts of compressed air being fired down through the filter bags. This air burst causes the dust cake to disintegrate and fall so it can be collected. This kind of cleaning using‘Pulse Jet’ is more reliable and keeps the filter bags working efficiently.

How it works

Dynavac® Cartridge Dust Collectors use metal cartridges that are cylindrical shaped and are lined with a pleated non-woven fabric as the filter media. In cartridge dust collectors, similar to baghouse dust collectors, the dirty air is forced through the outside of the cartridge filter to the inside. Dust particles are captured on the outside of the cartridge filters. Cartridge dust collectors also use pulsejet cleaning technology. A periodic pulse of compressed air is sent across the cartridge to dislodge the dust cake, which forms on the outside of the cartridge filter. This is an online cleaning process. Cartridge dust collectors are ideally suited to capture material that is easily released from the media during the cleaning cycle. These are usually better suited for smaller dust particle sizes.

 

Cartridge Dust Collectors are the ideal dust collection option for applications where dust is fine and for certain shapes of dust. When the dust is difficult to handle, a fabric filter dust collector is a better alternative for trouble free dust collection and longer filter life.The disadvantage of the cartridge dust collector is during the cleaning operation when it does not flex as much as a traditional fabric filter and consequently optimum filter efficiency will not be maintained if the cartridge filter does not get completely cleaned.The cartridge collector however has a much smaller footprint than traditional baghouse dust collectors. However they have a large filter area in proportion to their size. They are an excellent solution for locations where space is limited.
