Details : Ayurveda gives ginger the status of a virtual medicine chest. In India, we use ginger liberally in our daily life. Harvesting : Matured rhizomes are harvested at full maturity i.e. when the leaves turn yellow and start drying. Irrigation is stopped one month before harvest and the rhizome clumps are lifted carefully with a spade or digging fork. The dry leaves, roots and soil adhering on the rhizomes are manually separated. After harvest , the fibrous roots attached to the rhizomes firstly trimmed off and soil is removed by carefully by spray washing 02 to 03 times and sun dried for a day.

Grading, Packing and storage : Proper care is taken during the grading for supply quality ginger. Packing is done in Jute bag, mesh bag and corrugated boxes or as per the customer requirement.

The clusters are usually harvested during the early hours of the day under the supervision and are carefully placed in crates and immediately transported to the Packing house. Very firm fruits with good keeping quality. Round shape and medium size (80-100 g) Fruit harvesting starts 60-65 days after transplanting give good heat set and high yield potential.

Grading : Grading is done in the controlled temperature and mainly done based on the size, colour. Grading is mainly depend upon attractive, Uniform Ripe fruits, deep red and glossy.

Packing : They are packed in 5 Kg five-ply corrugated fibre board boxes, printed and labeled as per regulations.
