Castor oil is a vegetable oil obtained by pressing the seeds of the castor oil plant (Ricinus communis). Castor oil is a colorless to very pale yellow liquid with a distinct taste and odor once first ingested.
Castor oil and its derivatives are used in the manufacturing of soaps, lubricants, hydraulic and brake fluids, paints, dyes, coatings, inks, cold resistant plastics, waxes and polishes, nylon, pharmaceuticals and perfumes. It is also used for skin problems, to treat ringworm, for wrinkles and fine lines, acne. It is also used as a moisturiser.
Coconut oil, or copra oil, is an edible oil extracted from the kernel or meat of mature coconuts harvested from the coconut palm. It has various applications as food or in cosmetics. Coconut oil is extracted by the cold pressed method.
Coconut oil is used for diabetes, heart disease, chronic fatigue, Crohn's disease, Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), Alzheimers disease, thyroid conditions, energy, and boosting the immune system. Ironically, despite coconut oils high calorie and saturated fat content, some people use it to lose weight and lower cholesterol. Coconut oil is sometimes applied to the skin as a moisturizer and to treat a skin condition called psoriasis. It is widely used as a hair nourishing oil.
