SUNLIT Solar tunnel Drier is an enclosed chamber which is used for drying of various crops using Green House effect. It helps to preserve the food and also increase the shelf life of the product. It is covered with multi wall Polycarbonate sheet which traps solar energy and has an insulation effect, thereby maintaining high temperature for a longer period of time. Further solar tunnel drier filters out the UV radiations which help products to retain the nutrients, hygiene and colour.

From solar water heater, we can increase the temperature to the maximum of 95 deg. Industries like Textile, Hotel, Rubber and Dairy industries as already in use of boiler for generating steam. The hot water can be used as a pre heated water for boiler. Conventional fuels like LPG, Diesel, Firewood, etc., can be saved at 30% to 40% on their daily consumption.
Evacuated tubes are the absorber of the solar water heater. They absorb solar energy converting it into heat for use in water heating. Evacuated tubes have already been used for years in Germany, Canada, China and UK. There are several types of evacuated tubes in use in the solar industry. A heat pump is an electrical device that extracts heat from one place and transfers it to another. A compressor pumps the refrigerant between two heat exchanger coils. In one coil, the refrigerant is evaporated at low pressure and absorbs heat from its surroundings.
Dehydration means the process of removal of moisture by the application of artificial heat under controlled conditions of temperature, humidity, and an flow. Dehydration is a complex mechanism as this involves simultaneous exchange of moisture and heat. The relationship between the moisture content and temperature of the air during the drying process is referred to as 'psychometric' relation.
Drying or dehydration removes biologically active water thus stopping the growth of micro organisms. This also results in a reduced rate of enzyme activity and chemical reactions. The processing should be done in such a way that the food value, natural flavor, and characteristic cooking quality of the fresh material are retained after drying. Fruits are considered to be dry when they show no sign of moisture or stickiness when held firmly in the hands. Vegetables is considered to be dry when they become brittle. The residual moisture in the vegetables should not be more than 6 to 8 percent and in fruits 'I 0 to 20 percent.
