Atracheostomy(trach) tube is a curved tube that is inserted into a tracheostomy stoma.tracheostomy(also referred to aspharyngotomy, laryngotomy, andtracheostomy) consists of making an incision on the anterior aspect of the neck and opening a direct airway through an incision in the trachea.A commonly usedtracheostomy tube consists of three parts: outer cannula with flange (neck plate), inner cannula, and an obturator.Tracheostomy tubes are available in various sizes and styles. The dimensions of tracheostomy tubes are given by their inner diameter, outer diameter, length, and curvature.racheostomy tubes can be angled or curved to optimize fit into the trachea. Tubes can be customized with additional length at the proximal end (to accommodate patients with large or deep necks) or distal end (to accommodate patients with tracheal anomalies, eg, stenoses).Tracheostomy tubes are available with and without a cuff; cuffed tubes are used to allow for a seal in the setting of positive end expiratory pressure or to prevent downward flow of secretions.There are two styles , one is with cuff the other is no-cuff.
