we are offering coriander. coriander is the seed of a small plant. the seeds are almost spherical, one end being slightly pointed, the other slightly flattened. there are many longitudinal ridges. the length of the seed is 3 5 mm (18 316) and the color, when dried, is usually brown, but may be green or off white. the seed is generally sold dried and in this state is apt to split into halves to reveal two partially hollow hemispheres and occasionally some internal powdery matter. coriander is available both whole and ground. the fresh leaves of the plant are called cilantro and are used as an herb.

we are offering cloves. cloves are the unopened pink flower buds of the evergreen clove tree. the buds are picked by hand when they are pink and dried until they turn brown in color. cloves are about 12-inch long and 14-inch in diameter and with their tapered stem, they resemble tiny nails. in fact, their english name is actually derived from the latin word clavus, which means nail. although cloves have a very hard exterior, their flesh features an oily compound that is essential to their nutritional and flavor profile. cloves have a warm, sweet and aromatic taste that evokes the sultry tropical climates where they are grown.
