Zoledronic acid is a bisphosphonate that inhibits osteoclastic resorption of bone and calcium release induced by tumour cytokines. Zoleget is an integral part of the treatment of multiple myeloma which causes hypercalcemia associated with osteolytic and osteoporotic bone lesions.
