Our product range contains a wide range of Mechanical Pump Seal
A mechanical seal is a precision-engineered device that prevents fluids from leaking where a rotating shaft exits a pump housing. It typically includes two flat sealing faces—one rotating and one stationary—that press together under a spring\'s force, with a microscopic fluid film separating them during operation . These seals are widely used in centrifugal pumps, including thermic fluid (hotoil) systems.
How It Works
\nDuring operation: Pump rotation creates a fluid film via hydrodynamic effect; spring pressure maintains precise film thickness (on the order of microns) between faces. This lubricates and cools the interface while preventing leakage .
\nAt rest: Spring pressure brings faces into contact, stopping fluid escape even when hydrodynamic pressure is absent .

A very small, controlled leakage is normal—it maintains cooling and lubrication—but vastly less than packing-based systems
For thermic fluid pumps, manufacturers offer seals rated to 300–350°C (and even beyond). They use high-temperature materials—silicon carbide faces, Viton/PTFE secondary seals, stainless or alloy bellows, and robust spring assemblies . Often integrated in aircooled pump designs, these seals eliminate the need for external cooling.
