Barium Chloride

Barium carbonate (BaCO3), also known as witherite, is a chemical compound used in the Caustic Soda manufacture, ceramics and glass manufacture. Barium carbonate is made commercially from barium sulphide either by treatment with sodium carbonate at 60 to C (soda ash method) or by passing carbon dioxide at 40 to 90 C. Barium Carbonate is white crystalline material, Specific gravity 4.286 GMcm3, odourless, melting point 8110C, boiling point 14500 C, slightly soluble in water, decomposes in acid and non-flammable.
