A rapid and strong firefighting vehicle, totally independent from continuous water supply, paved roads and the prevailing infrastructure which normally determines the scene for an effective fire fighting operation: The IFEX FireHunter has been developed for the special requirements of wildland and forest fires and since has proven how effective it is fighting urban and industrial fires, too. With comparatively small amounts of water the high performance Dual Intruder cannons generate the impact to control or extinguish even large fires. So the IFEX FireHunter presents the ultimate solution for performing a fast and effective initial attack on structural, industrial, forest and wildland fires.

Disastrous tunnel fires in the past years have shown that there's still a lot of work to do in regard to effective fire protection for road and train tunnels. IFEX technologies with its tunnel extinguishing systems has now developed an effective concept which will provide a major contribution to tunnel safety. A combination of innovative extinguishing systems: sensor controlled and mounted on rails under the tunnel ceiling, or as fixed installation on the tunnel wall, or mounted on fast initial attack vehicles. These systems need to carry only a small amount of water to the site of the fire to achieve maximum effect with a few targeted impulse shots: to either extinguish the fire in a still early stage or at least to cool down the temperature inside the tunnel, by means of the enormous cooling surface and heat absorption capacity of the impulse shot, so people can be rescued and firefighters can get access to the fire.

Impulse fire extinguishing technology has changed the world of fire fighting in only a very few years. The way it functions is actually very simple to explain: it discharges the extinguishing agent in a matter of milliseconds at a very high velocity right into the seat of the fire. 25 bars of air pressure in the pressure chamber provide the high discharge velocity; the extinguishing agent - usually plain water - is pressurized with 6 bars into the water chamber. The shot is triggered off by a high speed valve, which lays between the two chambers; the valve opens for only 201000 of a second.

hose reel - with its special coaxial hose of 30 to 100 meters - is designed for the use onboard all types of fire engines in combination with the IFEX impulse gun and works with the truck's water tank and pump. An air cylinder supplies the air pressure for the required number of impulse shots. For vehicles not having an autonomous water supply, such as passenger cars, station wagons etc., IFEX offers the complete solution: a hose reel with 55 meter hose, water tank and air cylinder are install

Perfect for fighting forest and wildland fires: A regular tractor can be transformed into a highly effective fire extinguishing vehicle. The frontloader connection holds the IFEX unit with the 25 liter Dual Intruder cannons; a camera mounted inbetween the cannons assists in targeting of the shots. The supply platform with extinguishing agent tank, pump and compressor is hooked to the three-point-hook at the back. Aiming and shooting sequence is regulated via the control panel in the driver's cabin.

With the Dual Intruder skid, the combined power of the two connected 12 liter impulse cannons is mounted onto pickups or small sized trucks within short time. A water tank with 1, 000 liter capacity provides the extinguishing agent for the impulse shots; air supply is provided by air pressure cylinders or compressor. Additionally, a further two hose reels with impulse guns are mounted on the skid thus transforming an ordinary transportation vehicle into a versatile fire fighting vehicle for rapid initial attack.
