Drywall screws are specially designed screws used to fasten drywall to wooden or metal studs. They have a sharp point and fine threads to securely hold the drywall in place.
The length of the drywall screw you should use depends on the thickness of the drywall and the material it is being attached to. In general, 1-1/4 inch screws are suitable for 1/2 inch thick drywall, while 1-5/8 inch screws are used for 5/8 inch thick drywall.
Coarse thread drywall screws have deeper threads and are used for attaching drywall to wood studs, while fine thread drywall screws have shallower threads and are better suited for attaching drywall to metal studs.
