A Puri Press typically consists of two circular plates that are pressed together with dough in between, flattening and shaping it into a round disk. Some models may have additional features for cutting the dough into a perfect circle.
While a Puri Press is specifically designed for making puris, you can also use it to flatten and shape dough for other types of flatbreads like rotis, tortillas, or chapatis, depending on the consistency of the dough.
To clean a Puri Press, first unplug it and allow it to cool down, then use a damp cloth to wipe off any dough residue. Avoid immersing the press in water or using abrasive cleaners. Regular maintenance includes checking for loose parts or damage and lubricating moving components if necessary.
