In a single stage regulator, the high pressure of the gas in the cylinder is reduced to the required working pressure by an adjusting screw. Two Stage Regulator

In a two stage regulator the high pressure of the gas in the cylinder is reduced to the required working pressure in 2 stages. There are 2 gauges one to indicate inlet pressure and the other to indicate outlet pressure. In the first stage reduction is obtained automatically to pre-set level where as in the 2nd stage the pressure can be further reduced to the required working pressure by a pressure adjusting screws here, the outlet pressure and flow remains steady throughout the period of operation.
