The materials divide into2 categories in F and R.

Type F (FR-EPS, Flame retardant expandable PolystyrenePoly (phenylethene)

  • Polystyrene (CAS N 9003-53-6), containingpentane isomers as blowing agent and abominatedflame retardant.
  • Used mainly as raw material for the manufacturing of foamed thermal insulation and foranextensive range of cushioning and insulation packaging.
  • The finished goods are produced with amolding processcombined with the use of steam
  • Pentane (mixed isomers)
