This is an easy to use digital soil moisture sensor. Just insert the sensor in the soil and it can can measure moisture or water level content in it. It gives a digital output of 5V when moisture level is high and 0V when the moisture level is low in the soil.
The sensor includes a potentiometer to set the desired moisture threshold. When the sensor measures more moisture than the set threshold, the digital output goes high and an LED indicates the output. When the moisture in the soil is less thatn the set threshold, the output remains low. The digital output can be connected to a micro controller to sense the moisture level. The sensor also outputs an analog output which can be connected to the ADC of a micro controller to get the exact moisture level in the soild.

The Double Ring Soil Infiltrometer is a simple instrument which is used to determine the infiltration rate of water into the soil. The infiltration rate is determinate as the amount of water per surface area and time unit, which penetrates the soils. This rate can be calculated on the basis of the measurements and the Darcy’s law. Several measurements can be executed simultaneously, yielding a very reliable and accurate mean result. When touching the level, a sensor effects the illumination of a signal lamp & an additional acoustic signal will be released by a buzzer.

It consists of collector assembled with brass Ring. Funnel, Locking Rings and Base. The Rain Gauge is supplied with 2 litres bottle and a measuring cylinder. Rain Gauges are available in 200 sq. cm collection areas. The essential parts of an ordinary rain gauge are a funnel through which the rain water is collected in a receiver and a measuring glass (rain measure) with which the rain water collected is measured. The correct type of rain measure suitable to the type of rain gauge in use has to be used for the measurement of rainfall. The rain measure is graduated for every0.2 mm of rainfall.

Self-recording rain gauge (SRRG) is an automatic device used to record a continuous rainfall for 24 hrs on a daily chart, if rain occurs.
The characteristics of rainfall events viz. onset and cessation of rainfall, duration of rainfall, intensity of rainfall and the total amount of rainfall in mm can be obtained from the rainfall chart.

DETAILS OF EQUIPMENT

• It is a float type rain recorder in which the rain is led into a float chamber containing a light, hollow float.
• The rain gauge is installed on a level ground and fixed on a masonry foundation of 60 × 60 × 60 cm3 sunk into ground.
• Base of the gauge is cemented into the foundation so that the rim of the gauge is exactly 75 cm above the case of self-recording rain gauge.
• If the height of the rim were more, the rainwater collected would decrease because of the change in wind speed near the ground.
• Rainwater is entering the receiver through an 8-inch diameter funnel.
• The receiver is consisting of float and siphon chamber.

MEASURING PROCEDURE

• A pen is mounted on the stem of the float and as the level of water rises in the receiver, the float rises and the pen records on a chart placed on a rotating drum with clockwork arrangement, the amount of water in a receiver continuously.
• The clock work drum revolves once in 24 hrs.
• Siphoning starts automatically when the pen reaches the maximum point of the chart.
• If the rain continues, the pen rises again from the zero line on the chart.
• If there is no rain, the pen traces the horizontal line from where the rain stopped

A Rain gauge is a device to measure liquid rainfall amount and intensity. The device is composed of a rain collector cone and a double-chamber tipping bucket connected to a magnet. The magnet operates one reed switch, which generates im-pulses that can be counted by external meters. Siphon versions (DQA230.1-231.1-230.3) are equipped with a siphon placed on the cone’s nozzle; it has function during heavy rain, to regulate the flow into the bascule permitting all the water to fall inside the tipping bucket. This solution gives its best results where the main need is the measurement of the total amount of rain over long periods.
Class A rain gauges versions (DQA230-231-235-236) have the “Class A” class accuracy as described by the UNI EN 17277:2020 standard. It is the most accurate class for intensity measurement. For the Class A accuracy achievement, a cor-rection formula on the data acquisition system is required.
