Marble is dissolved by acids with dilute acids, however, the results of acidic exposure will vary with the nature of acid. Chlorides, sulfates, and other chemical compounds react differently and produce various by-products, with a wide range of solubility and impact on the durability of marble.It is always important to determine the exactly the type of pollutants causing marble deterioration.
