Fractionation Plant For Palm Oil,

Dry Fractionation serves to separate by crystallisation the high melting point from the low melting point dry Glycerides. This, infact, is a physical modification of the palm oil and is highly sensitive to temperature variation of the liquid at any moment of the process.

Our bio-diesel system is an innovative technology which can use different kinds of fresh vegetable oils (e.g. sunflower, rape seed oil, palm oil) but also used vegetable oils and fats.

Salient features of MECTECH's Crystallizers for palm oil dry fractionation:

  • Large heat transfer area with regard to the oil charge in the Crystallizers i.e 10 sqm. per ton of oil.
  • Optimal position of the heat exchange surfaces with regard to the impellers and therefore to the oil circulation in the vessel.
  • All parts of the processed oil are really driven too close to the heat exchange surfaces.
  • The cooling programme is accurately followed. At the end of each cooling step the temperature difference between cooling water and oil is close to 1'C.
  • The duration of the crystallization process for either the crude palm oil or the RBD is 5 hours for any size of cooler/ crystallizer from 2 to 26 tons charge.

Hydrogenation Plant

Hydrogenation is the process to change the physical characteristics of natural fats and oils.

Hydrogenation of vegetable oils involves the addition of hydrogen, in the presence of a Nickel catalyst, to the carbon-carbon double bonds present in the fatty acid chains.

  • 100% reproducibility of product is ensured.

Interesterification

Interesterification can be defined as a redistribution of the fatty acid moieties present in a triglyceride oil over its glycerol moieties. Interesterification has become the alternative fat modification technology to partial HYDROGENATION.

Interstification is the process of re-arranging the fatty esters within and between tri-glycerides resulting in the most cases a change in the physical properties of the oil / fats. Interstification is the intra and inter molecular exchange of fatty acids on the glycerol back bone of tri glycerides. In the chemical Interstification process commonly used catalysts are sodium methylate and ethylate followed by sodium methoxide.

In enzymatic Interstification process, the enzyme commonly used is lipozyme TL1M.

Deodorization

Glycerine Distillation Plant

Glycerine Distillation Plant is broadly divided into three main sections viz.de-aeration section, distillation section and bleaching section.

  • The de-aeration loop consists of a re-circulation pump and heat exchanger. The pump circulates the crude glycerine to the de-aeration vessel and feeds de-aerated crude glycerine to the distillation column.
  • The distillation section is composed of various systems consisting off vaporization system, stripping system, rectification system, pumparound system and scrubbing system.
  • Bleaching section composed of two fixed beds of activated carbon. Distilled glycerine is cooled to bleaching temperature and then passed through the bleachers.

The bleached glycerine is filtered and then finally cooled down to storage temperature before discharging to the battery limits.
