Pipe Spacers

The paddle blind is usually known as spade, line blind or pancake blind. The paddle blind is made from a round piece of different type of material, with a handle furnished in a different form, according to the dimensional standard. The flanges are usually raised face, flat face or ring type and are often defined by ASME standards. The paddle blind is inserted between two flanges (with a gasket on each side) to stop the fluid. It can be used for example for maintenance of the line or the change of production, and it may have the function of firestop. Paddle blanks and paddle spacers may be used individually or in conjunction with one another. When paddle blanks and paddle spacers are used together they form a spectacle flange, or spectacle blind flange. A flange is an external or internal ridge, or rim (lip), for strength, as the flange of an iron beam such as an I-beam or a T-beam; or for attachment to another object, as the flange on the end of a pipe, steam cylinder, etc., or on the lens mount of a camera; or for a flange of a rail car or tram wheel. Thus flanged wheels are wheels with a flange on one side to keep the wheels from running off the rails. The term flange is also used for a kind of tool used to form flanges. Pipes with flanges can be assembled and disassembled easily.
