Teflon Gaskets

Teflon -based gasket materials are able to withstand significantly more
aggressive chemical environments (including highly oxidizing environments) than standard non-asbestos gasket materials. However their temperature, pressure and mechanical performance is inferior to standard non-asbestos gasket materials. Metal inserted and expanded PTFE are able to operate at higher pressures.

Teflon is principally used as a gasket material because of it's capability to
remain unaffected by the majority of chemicals used in industry. It is also
classified, in most cases, as a food grade material, making it acceptable to
both medical and food production industries. There are three basic types of
Teflon gasket materials. Virgin Teflon, filled Teflon and expanded Teflon.

Virgin Teflon is by far the least expensive of the three varieties, and is used
in most general applications. Filled Teflon is a gasket material with a virgin. Teflon base to which a substance is added during manufacture to improve the sealing characteristics of Teflon . This "filler" usually is glass or graphite particles although ceramics has sometimes been used. The resulting gasket material is strong, yet highly compressible with very good, though not universal, chemical resistance.

Expanded Teflon is virgin Teflon to which a stress resistance has been added by means of molecular rearrangement during manufacture. This process ensures that the molecular chains from which the Teflon is constructed, do not arrange themselves into set patterns. This means that expanded Teflon possesses no structural weakness (grain) and expands and contracts equally in all directions. Because no additives are required, expanded Teflon also possesses the unique chemical resistance of virgin Teflon.

Cork Gaskets

If you manufacture a product that insulates, cushions, or seals, Rubber Cork is the smart alternative.

Only Rubber Cork has true compressibility. Other materials under pressure crush, distort, or extrude. But Rubber Cork will truly compress with negligible sideflow. Why? Only Rubber Cork has natural cork granules uniformity dispersed throughout and cork has unique characteristics. It is make of cells with walls of a strong resinous substance that is flexible but will not stretch.

Trapped inside each cell is a pocket of air, in fact cork is 90% air (by volume). Under pressure the air inside is squeezed into a smaller space but because the cell is airtight, the compressed air maintains counter pressure until the force is released. (A one inch cube of pure cork can be compressed to 1/2 inch under 4000 psi without breakage and return to 90% of its original height).

By itself, cork is amazing, but remarkably when combined with synthetic rubber we get the properties of the polymer plus the benefit of true compressibility. This unique combination opens up worlds of possibilities in a variety of applications.

Camprofile Gaskets

Camprofile Gasket is a two-part seal comprising of a precision machined grooved metal core which takes the bolt loading, resulting in extremely high pressure loading, giving excellent deformation and sealing properties - together with a soft sealing materialbonded to either side of the core. These materials prevent damage to the flange and fill any surface irregularities.

Camprofile gaskets are primarily used in heat transfer applications. It offers a safe, effective seal under the most exacting conditions on both standard pipe work and specialist applications in a wide range of sizes and configurations. Camprofile gaskets are often selected to replace Metal Jacketed Gaskets. Camprofiles can be used without sealing layers although this provides an excellent seal, there is risk that the flange surface is inclined to damage especially at high seating loads, which is the reason we recommend Camprofiles with sealing layers to ensure protection to the flange surfaces from damage in addition to providing an effective seal.
