The flowers bloom profusely during summer in vivid colors like pastels, oranges, reds and deep plums. Diascia look beautiful flopping over the edges of your hanging basket.

How to propagate Diascia
Propagation is both by cuttings and seeds. The seeds must be planted before the end of frost. Diascia needs light to germinate ensure the seeds are not fully covered and try sowing them superficially. It takes 2-3 weeks for the seeds to germinate.They need warm climate and rich loamy and well drained  soil to avoid water logging.
Lesser known facts
Diascia has  two downwardly pointing spurs on the back of the flower for which it has given a name of Twinspur. The spurs  of diascia contains an oil which is collected by Redivivabees in South Africa.
