Cis-9-Octadecenoic acid also known as Oleic acid is a mono-unsaturated omega-9 fatty acid. Oleic acid is the most widely distributed and abundant fatty acid in nature. Very few fats are known to contain less than 10% of this acid.It is an omega- 9 fatty acid which belongs to a family of unsaturated fatty acids which have in common a final carbon–carbon double bond in the ninth bond from the methyl end of the fatty acid.Oleic Acid is naturally found in various animal and vegetable fats in the triglyceride form.It is a colourless to pale yellow liquid with a mild odour.

• Oleic acid is an excellent for dry or aging skin as it penetrates easily and deeply into the skin’s surface and hence is used in moisturizers.
• Used as an ingredient in hair care products since it controls water loss in the hair strands while making the hair softer, thicker, and stronger.
